Création Africa Ghana (CAG), Support to the Expansion of Ghana Music (SEGMI), and Accra Indie Film Festival (AiF) came together to ignite the vibrant Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) in Ghana through the Ghana Creative Mixer – a tour to Cape Coast, Kumasi, and Tamale, from December 5th – 9th, 2023, aimed at engaging and empowering entrepreneurs in the CCIs.
The unique creative scene of each city was celebrated through various segments of the program, which addressed multiple facets of the creative process and sectors. The French team presented a series of initiatives dedicated to the CCIs in Ghana, including Création Africa Ghana, Campus Art, and SEGMI. Kofi Boachie-Ansah, a multi-disciplinary artist and creative entrepreneur, then hosted an insightful workshop on copyrights in the Music Industry.
AiF hosted a Film Talk Party, where short films by emerging filmmakers from each city were screened. Guests had the opportunity to interact with the filmmakers during a Q&A session, which shed light on their respective filmmaking journeys. A music concert featuring established and upcoming artists was held in each city, with Tamale closing the Ghana Creative Mixer with a surprise performance from renowned artiste, Sherifa Gunu.
The French team was warmly hosted in Cape Coast and Kumasi by Alliance Française Ghana and in Tamale, by Red Clay Studio.
